The Great Horned Owl is a silent huntress whose special barbs on the edges of her flight feathers allow her to fly stealthily without a sound.  Through the silence, her medicine enables one to hear beyond what is being said - to pierce through the illusions and target truth with high precision.  She can hear what others cannot. 
 
Because she has the largest eyes of all terrestrial vertebrates (relative to her head and body size), she is also able to see clearly in the darkness and is most active at night.  She thus lends enormous support for seeing into the shadow of the unconscious and finding the fears and secret desires that motivate us.
